walking, again.

Today I decided to go for a walk. Left around 2:50. I planned to take Park Ave all the way up to Madison Square Park at 25, see what happens, and the head back via Broadway.

Walking up Park Ave. was cool. I saw this little old lady that was scattering handfuls of bread on the side of the road and there was a plague of pigeons around her!!! hilarious. nothing got run over thankfully.

Madison Square Park was very nice. I got to see the Treehuts by Tadashi Kawamata [and the Shake Shack’s infamous lines!!!]. It was really amazing like a pbs nature special. I wouldn’t have been surprised if someone poked their head out of one. And the wood was still clean and bright so that was nice.

I wasn’t tired at all, so i kept on going up, and also made some twists and turns, passing by the Empire State Building and Herald Square. But now I was in the high 30’s and extremely sweaty despite it being rather cool today. Thankfully, Bryant Park showed up!

I love the chairs and tables there. So efficient, practical, great design, space saving, strong.

And there’s a carousel there!
anyways…Today, i decided to investigate what the big white thing behind bryant park was…
turns out it’s the New York Public Library!!! (under restoration).

I have to say it was rather disappointing, I walked the three floors over and over again, thinking i had missed something but nope, that was it. Apparently, it only houses Humanities and Social Sciences and the rest of it’s collection is spread out.
but on the ground floor they had a pretty cool exhibit (with catchy music) on art deco….

i liked the stuff by Sonia Delaunay. And they liked nautical motifs. and deer-because it represented speed(new) and nature(old). There were also lots of cool ol’ textiles there.

and then i got back around 6:10 for some food. whoo. ps-found all these pics online, however, this silly theme won’t show where.
